Everything was fine, clean and more. The staff, especially Mohamed, were great! If I'm ever back to Stone Town, I will definitely stay at this very friendly and great value place.

Their service was great. I overslept the first day and could still get breakfast around 11. It is central and in a good and lovely neighbourhood. I really enjoyed my time in the Jambo Guest House in Stone Town and would definitely recommend it or stay again the next time.

We stayed here for 1 night on first arriving in Zanzibar. A friendly driver picked up from the airport and we were pleasantly surprised by this quaint little guest house. Although the room was not very spacious, the sheets were fresh and the guest house looks like it is thoroughly cleaned several times a day. This is important since you are sharing bathrooms with other guests at the hotel. None of the rooms actually have en suite bathrooms. It's definitely great value and the location is also quite good right next to a great pizza garden restaurant with WIFI. It's about a 10-minute stroll to the waterfront but the price is certainly right and it's right in the heart of the Old Stone Town. The staff was very welcoming and happy to help. Breakfast was not terribly gourmet but you will certainly get your weekly in-take of eggs staying here. The WIFI was on and off during our stay but we understood that this was a general issue throughout Stone Town. I would highly recommend this place to any budget traveler. It's also a good place to meet other travelers before heading out to Zanzibar's stunning beaches.

This place is in the heart of Stone Town and in its budget range it's the best I found. Mohamed is a gentleman. Airport transfer is included. I was very impressed with the comfortable bedding and the very clean shared bathrooms. The really got that right. The breakfasts were basic, fruit, eggs, tea. Wifi worked on and off but mostly on. There is a cool pizza garden next door the plays good music in the evening. But the best kept secret is a local restaurant called Lukman which is two blocks away (opposite the CRDB Bank). It's a fast-paced buffet restaurant packed with locals and popular with tourists who want to see what the fuss is all about. For a completely different experience try the excellent restaurant at The Emerson Hotel which does seafood with locally sourced spices. In Stone Town you'll get used to walking and everything is nearby including the night time food market at Forodhani Garden on the waterfront. I would highly recommend this place if you appreciate the higher end of budget.
