Roberts' Camp is a beautiful oasis situated on the shores of Lake Baringo. Come and wonder around the gardens, relax lazily in the Thirsty Goat Bar and watch the hippos playing in the shallows along the shore.
With plenty of room for camping, Roberts' Camp is ideal for families, backpackers and over-landers. And, of course, Lake Baringo is famous for the variety and number of beautiful birds that call it home.
Robert's Camp is located on the western shore of Lake Baringo in the Rift Valley in southwest Kenya. The orange-brown waters of the lake and dramatic rocky surroundings provide us with one of Kenya’s most stunning areas. Baringo is also home to an unparalleled variety of birds, and some unusual wild creatures. At night you can experience the thrill of seeing or hearing hippos, sometimes with young, grazing on the lawns and returning to the water by day.
Robert's Camp is a beautiful lakeside campsite offering accommodation in bandas and family cottages. Towels, mosquito nets and linen are provided. Each Banda has an electrical socket.
Weaver, Spoonbill and Stork bandas are situated together in a quiet shady corner of the camp. There is a shared kitchen with a gas cooker, fridge and freezer, all utensils, and a shared bathroom with a shower, set also an outside barbecue/eating area.
The camp is safe for visitors, but guests are reminded that animals, especially hippos, should never be approached too closely, and special care must be taken after dark.
Roberts' Camp is also home to 'The Thirsty Goat', our bar and restaurant - the perfect place to relax with friends over a cold beer or enjoy fresh fish from the lake.
The Thirsty Goat Pub and Restaurant prides itself on an astonishing range of ice cold beers, wines, spirits and exotic cocktails, as well as an exciting menu of meat and vegetarian dishes. The Thirsty Goat is a bar and the a la carte restaurant is available to all guests including those choosing a self catering option.
