We prefer a guest house over a hotel. I expected a clean, simple guest house experience, and got a clean, comfortable guest house experience with lovely staff. Mary and the staff were just wonderful, could not ask for a better experience. Adding a second guest sharing the same room/bed was very reasonable at Sitatunga House as it was not double the entire fee -- this is very unlike my typical Kenya B&B experiences where the charge is typically double for a married couple, even though they take only one room. The entire guest house was clean including the outdoor areas and gardens -- the sheets and towels were especially nice -- better than I expected! The bed was quite comfortable. The location was very good for me because we spent everyday in Bikeke. Very quiet and serene aside from neighboring animals on the shamba next door who were loud at feeding time (to be honest, I loved this -- we lived on a small shamba in Kenya for 2 years and this made me miss it) -- For guests who would want to be close enough to Kitale town to walk for grocery, etc. you would likely require transport of some sort to reach town in a reasonable amount of time. Both check-in and check-out were very easy. Receipts were clear and accurate. I would recommend it to others.
