This lovely wooden house built in traditional island style with large doors and window openings secured with wooden shutters is situated in Nouvelle Vallee in the district of Beau Vallon on the island of Mahe.
The entrance of the house is reached by an outside staircase and consists of three rooms named blue room, orange room and green room, all located on the same level on the first floor. The blue room has a double bed and a small single bed cot. The orange room has a small double bed and a single bed and the green room has a double bed. There is another bed/couch in the living room and a fold-out double bed as well. Each room is equipped either with ceiling or standing fan.
There is one bathroom with shower/ bath/ toilet and a separate toilet. The well equipped kitchen/dining room opens up onto a large veranda that offers a view over the large garden and the bay and the hills of Beau Vallon.
The spacious veranda is where one spends most of the time while staying at House Sherwin. The large dining table with chairs offers ample space to eat together, read or play games. There are some easy chairs, perfect to relax and take in the view over the garden and into the tree tops. In the evening the veranda invites to watch the sunset over Beau Vallon Bay and Silhouette Island and enjoy the cooling breeze.
There is a large fenced in garden where many of the tropical fruit such as bananas, mangoes, passion fruit, star fruit, corosol, guavas, papayas, lemons, limes, wild oranges, coconuts grow as well as flowers and shrubs such as hibiscus, bougainvillea, lilies, wild ginger, aloe vera, turmeric, chillies and more.
