The Governors’ Il Moran Camp is situated along the banks of the Mara River, right in the heart of the Masai Mara Game Reserve, with the best game viewing right on your doorstep including lots of wildlife and birds. This is a camp for those who want that extra bit of luxury. Governors’ IL Moran Camp is small and intimate, with added touches that make this the top of the range safari. IL Moran is widely regarded as the premiere camp in the Masai Mara.
The camp comprise of 10 spacious comfortable safari tents hidden under ancient trees, deep in the forest. They line the winding banks of the Mara River. All tents are equipped with toilet, shower with hot and cold water supply each with a private veranda with authentic furniture. From your tent you have a nice view of the river, where possible, crocodiles and hippos from the river ford.
There is no electricity in the tents but in the evening there is enough light of the paraffin and gas lamps, creating a special atmosphere. In the morning, guests wake up with a coffee and tea, during which time the freshly baked breads and breakfast is prepared.
You start the day at Governors' Il Moran Camp with a delicious buffet of fresh fruits, cereals and hot baked breads, as well as traditional cooked breakfasts. Lunch is also buffet-style, and is served under giant trees overlooking the river.
In the evening an a la carte dinner is served by candlelight in the dining tent, under the stars, or on your private veranda. You can also arrange a bush breakfast or bush lunch. Not only does this enable you to stay out on your game drive for longer, but enjoying a tasty meal surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African bush is a truly memorable experience.
