Samburu Simba lodge overlooks the Buffalo springs and the Ewaso Nyiro river, situated 300 km north of Nairobi, in Buffalo Springs Game reserve, within Isiolo District. From your room you have a fantastic view over the stunning plains, where elephants are grazing. Nearby rare game include the reticulated giraffe, Grevy ’s zebra, Beisa orynx and long-necked gerunuk can be seen.
You can spend your mid day in the swimming pool, or at the lounge watching wildlife at a watering hole. Evenings after dinner at the restaurant, there is entertainment by the Samburu traditional dancers, relax at the lounge with a Tusker beer or conversation with friends.
Samburu Simba Lodge has seven villas of 10 rooms each, six on the ground floor and four on the first floor of which two rooms are interconnected. The rooms are spacious, well furnished with a reading desk and several lounge chairs. The bathrooms have a shower with warm or cold water. All rooms have an overhead fan, telephone extension and reading desk. Guests will like the large terrace that faces the river valley below, especially in the morning when there is bird life and elephants roaming.
One of the rooms is suitably designed to cater for the physically challenged, it has handicapped facilities as well as washroom.
All the guest rooms are strictly non smoking, a separate designated smoking area is available within the public area.
Samburu Simba lodge has a restaurant that serves various mouth watering meals. Bush dinner can also be arranged on request.
Various drinks and cocktails are available in the lodge's well stocked bar.
