The Severin Safari Camp is located about 250 kilometres from Mombasa and Nairobi within the Tsavo West National Park, the largest game reserve in East Africa. The camp offers a view of the Kilimanjaro, an unparalleled natural setting, with wide savannahs, wooded river valleys and the famous red elephants.
The camp from the park entrance Mtito Andei is about 40 miles to the Kitani region. An airstrip is accessible by car in about 25 minutes, the ideal starting point for a fly in safari. The flight from Mombasa or Nairobi to Tsavo West National Park takes about an hour.
Severin Safari Camp offers 27 luxurious accommodations and eight self-catering bandas, which extend over 25 hectares of bushland. The eight self-catering bandas are equipped with kitchenettes, private bathrooms and beds with mosquito nets and provide an authentic African feel.
All 21 octagonal tents are equipped with running hot and cold water, shower, separate toilet with bidet, comfortable beds with mosquito nets and private terrace.
The elevated deck view of Kibo and Mawenzi suites offer a magnificent view of Mt Kilimanjaro and the broad savannah of the Tsavo Park. The spacious suites are also equipped with a corner bath and are suitable to an adjacent tent perfect for families.
The centre of the camp is located under a cooling Makutidach and houses the reception, safari boutique, the “Thorn Tree” bar and “Out Of Africa” restaurant. The restaurant has a unique à la carte menu with a selection of fine African wines. The chef is known for delicious meat dishes, cooked on hot stones or in fondue. The Thorn Tree bar offers refreshments of all kinds, from coffee or tea in the morning, and a selection of cocktails in the evening.
