This lodge is located on the Tana River Delta, in Kipini, a small fishing village, where the river meets the sea. Tana River Lodge is a paradise for nature lovers, with its prime location overlooking a landscape where forest, river, beach, dunes and sea come together. Tana River is one of the most important rivers of equatorial Africa, the longest in Kenya with over 800 km.
The lodge consists of seven bungalows and two suites. All rooms are furnished in safari style, with private bathrooms, colonial bathtubs in the suites, fans and mosquito nets. Each bungalow has a private veranda overlooking the river delta.
The restaurant is just a few metres from the beach, and located in a typical "Bajuni” construction with a makuti roof. The kitchen is given great importance and has an excellent selection of meat, fish and shellfish.
