Situated on the West Side of the Likoma Island, with spectacular sunsets and an ever changing sandy beach in Lake Malawi. The lodge is built on the edge of Ulisa, a busy fishing village, so guests can relax at the lodge, meet the islanders at the bar, see the fishing boats going with their bright lights to fish at night, and wander through the village.
The bar and restaurant have a wooden deck open on three sides to catch the breezes off the lake, and our experienced chefs are making maximum use of the local resources of the island particularly fresh fish. The bar is well stocked with beers, ciders, soft drinks, fruit juice, spirits and fine wines. Both Airtel & Tnm networks are widely available on Likoma; Airtel is more reliable at the lodge. Internet connection is easy with a dongle.
There are tracks & footpaths throughout the island with wonderful views over the lake. It is very safe to walk anywhere on Likoma, even at night and even alone. Our staff will be happy to escort you on walks to view Likoma’s many attractions including the enormous brick & stone Cathedral built on a rocky hillside over 100 years ago by the English Missionaries, and still filled with over 500 people and 3 choirs every Sunday.
