Situated in Thyolo, Malawi, discover the quiet splendour, grace, comfort, tranquility and sumptuousness of this sympathetically refurbished home of yesteryear. Huntingdon House represents the soul of the estate and we invite our guests to experience the re-birth of this historic property as it enters its next glorious era with modern comforts tastefully complementing charming 1920’s pieces.
Originally the family home built by Maclean Kay in the early -30s, Huntingdon House exudes a colonial charm and unique character that cannot be recreated. This magnificent house is surrounded by sprawling manicured gardens with secret patios and terraces waiting to be discovered.
Each meal at Satemwa uses only the freshest seasonal ingredients. We source local fresh produce, including fresh milk and cream from the estate's dairy herd and lots of our vegetabels are grown in our own organic garden . A small team of dedicated staff produce wonderful meals with menus changing on a daily basis to suite the weather and personal preferences of our guests. Our Afternoon teas is a popular outing for many of our local visitors.
