The Lodge is located along the Lakeshore area known as Chivumu some 2 kilometres off Nkhata Bay – Nkhota Kota Road and about 1.5 kilometres to the South of Chintheche Township. The site lies in Chivumu area within the lakeside of Chintheche. The lodge is strategically located within walking distances to Chintheche Inn and Sambani Lodge allowing complementarity in service coverage.
La Exotica Lodge has been built as a combination of eco lodge, looking for viable ecological solutions to all aspects of the lodge. Reducing the travellers’ carbon footprint is a main theme throughout the lodge.
The lodge has 12 major units which have 36 bed holding capacity. There is a restaurant and bar facilities as well as special resting areas, all built in a mixture of contemporary African style and modern design.
La Exotica bar that is stocked with a variety of soft drinks, wines, whiskies, spirits as well as the popular carlsbeg beers and laggers. We also serve mouth watering snacks including our popular but unique "Little James", "Spicy Chicken wingelets" and braaiis.
There is a wide choice of outdoor activities ranging from those based at the Resort to those that take place outside the resort. Canoeing is a lovely family activity as the paddle skis are very easy to use. The lake is so clear on calm days that one can see the fish swiming under you as you gently paddle along.
Relax and read your book in one of our summer huts along the beach or while laying on grass in our beautiful gardens. Enjoy a nicely chilled drink or coffee while watching games on DSTV or join in in bawo or indoor games of your choice.
You can join our ride to Mkuwazi Hill some 30km to the North where there is a rather challenging climb to the top of the hill but once you get to the top of the hill you have some stunning views of the Lake and you can also see birds that are unique to this hill alone. Horse riding is also available but needs to be arranged in good time.
