Regarded as the most spectacular private home in Watamu. Styled top to bottom by a sought-after & celebrated South African interior design firm featured frequently in SA's House & Garden, Heavenly's fresh & modern feel sets it apart from other (usually more rustic) holiday homes in Watamu.
Three stories set on 2 beachfront acres, Heavenly sleeps 13 with 5 bedrooms. All bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms, a huge amount of closet space, mosquito nets, fans and A/C. Three have ocean views and private terraces. Other features; daytime lounge, an evening lounge, a shaded outdoor lounge, an office/studio, a yoga room, an art/reading room, a huge pool, 3 dining areas and 2 rooftop lounges.
Heavenly has 3 distinct dining areas, plus a few more informal ones. Typically people choose to have breakfast & dinner in the main dining room and lunch by the pool under the neem tree. We typically feed the kids separately at their own hour & table. Other options include bitings on the roof & picnics on the beach. No rules here.
A simple and cozy yoga room overlooks the front garden, and has French doors & a terrace to invite it in. Comfortable for 3 to 4 people.
Animal lovers will delight in the troupe of Sykes monkeys who visit Heavenly almost daily, particularly in the morning. Though you may want to hide your toothpaste, a monkey favorite.
Despite there being so much to do in Watamu, Heavenly encourages the sloth in us all. Many a napper has been spotted in the various lounge areas around the house.
The staff includes a cook, a housekeeper, a "do-everything" guy and a night watchman.
Local activities include stand-up paddle boarding, kite surfing (2 schools are next to Heavenly), wind surfing; dolphin & whale watching; snorkeling, scuba diving; visits to the Sokoke forest, Gede Ruins, snake farm; golf on 9-hole range; sunset sailing, Mida Creek excursions both through the mangroves and by canoe, and a meal at the Crab Shack is an absolute must!
