With six spacious comfortable cottages, a roof top suite overlooking the Wasini channel, and a residential house for visitors who prefer to do some self catering, this facility offers unique accommodation.
There is also a new deep pool, a spa service, and at the hotel's bar and restaurant, there's a revitalized menu for guests who just want to relax and enjoy the privacy that Shimoni is special for.
Shimoni Reef Lodge is nestled in a beautiful garden with a pool surrounded by mature forest trees on three acres. The main recreation area is in large Moorish house with relaxing views towards the Pemba channel and facing Wasini island. The house consists of a lounge and extended sundeck over the water, and the tidal beach is directly below. DStv is available in the TV lounge. This is a discreet private rooftop suite for honeymooners, with spectacular views onto the Usambari mountains in Tanzania across the bay.
Sitting on the dining terrace at Shimoni Reef before, during or after a meal often involves some dolphin spotting, but always some bird spotting. Sipping your wine and coffee while watching the dhows sail up and down the channel, you realise you finally found a place where time did stand still.
Meal times are totally flexible to fit your activities of the day. You can eat and drink what you want and when you want! Choose from a wide selection of the restaurant and bar menus as well as a variety of spa treatments.
The hotel also caters for vegetarians. There is always a wide selection of salads vegetarian dishes. However always inform the reception if you have any dietary requirements.
