A private home tucked away on a farm on the edge of the Masai Mara. The house sits on the banks of the Mara River and is surrounded by game within the Enonkishu Conservancy. It has a casual and laid back atmosphere where guests can get away from the beaten track and plan their own itinerary as they like.
One of the unique features of house is how private it is, tucked away in the bush on the corner of the farm with views that stretch over the river and across the plains, you feel as if the Mara is your own back garden. There are no other tourists and it is off the beaten track. The house gives you a taste of life on a farm with the big 5 on the doorstep, all to yourselves.
Casual with simple interiors and a rustic charm, the house sleeps 8 people comfortably, with 2 double en suite rooms on the river, and a family cottage which has a double and twin room sharing a bathroom. The house comes fully staffed and has an excellent chef and safari guide who can help guests to plan their activities over their stay.
There is a dining and sitting area with a cosy fireplace and a large lawn that stretches out to the banks of the Mara river. Dining is either under the stars on a table by the camp fire or in the dining area by the fire. Bush dinners and brunches can also be prepared and packed picnics for those wanting a full day of game driving.
All of the fresh veggies, eggs, cream and baked goods are produced on site and used to provide our chef with the healthy and delicious ingredients to create sumptuous wholesome meals.
Activities include game drives with an experienced guide knows the area intimately and there is plenty of game to see. There are horses available for experienced riders to go on hacks around the farm, getting up close to giraffe, wildebeest and zebra. There is a tennis court on the farm, a 15 minute walk from the house, or a 5 minute drive away. The house team of Maasai watchmen on the farm are also talented singers and dancers.
