Constructed using the Mara’s very own volcanic stone, this house was home to Jacqueline Roumeguere-Eberhardt for 27 years, famous for her research on the Maasai culture.
The four-bedroom house is available to guests seeking a private, “home away from home” safari experience on a full board or self-catering basis. The house is ideal for larger groups or families as it offers four double bedrooms each with a double bed, two of which with en-suite bathrooms. Bedding and towels are provided for the guests.
To further the experience at the house, an outdoor living area by the river has been especially set up for the nature-lovers who’d prefer to enjoy the scenery at it’s best with a good book, a cup of tea or a glass of wine!
There is a large verandah with a beautiful view of the Mara paradise plains and the Mara river. The 2nd floor of the house offers a large relaxing area for the guests.
There is an electric fence surrounding the property to ensure your safety. However, it is key for guests to remember that the house is in a wildlife park, and not to venture by night onto the extended grounds.
The house comes with a housekeeper, waiter and a cook can available as an option. The house can be booked on either self catering basis or with food depending on the number of pax. If staying on a self catering basis, the kitchen is equipped with a gas oven and fridge. BBQ is available for guests' use.
