The Indian Ocean Beach Resort was opened in 1992. An exclusive, luxury resort built on the site of a 16th century mosque. The Kenyan coast was once ruled by the rich Sultans of Zanzibar, hence the architecture is Arabic and a lot of antics from the Sultans Palace have been used as décor.The main reception has an antique “Chandelier” given to the Sultan by British traders for landing rights.
All 100 Deluxe Rooms (25 oceanfront) are handsomely crafted and beautifully furnished and finished.

The airy first floor restaurant, over looking the ocean, specializes in a rich exotic pot-pourri of master pieces from the shores of the Indian Ocean. Serves full Anglo American Buffet Breakfast and eight course Table d'hote Dinner.
Al fresco styled, pool-side patio restaurant serving light meals throughout the day. Specialities include sandwiches and mouthwatering dishes from the Tandoori oven.
An open air, a la carte restaurant practically on the beach featuring the finest shellfish and seafood 'swahili style'. A snack lunch menu also available, one may choose to dine on the boat, in the main restaurant or out in the patio.
The Authentic traditional Kenyan Restaurant. The village creates gracious dinner banquets, set in open air bomas, with soft glowing lanterns and crackling bonfire all accompanied by enticing African entertainment. Operates only during theme evening Dinner setups.
The dhow bar on the beach, which has its own collection of multi-trunked baobabs, serves cocktails and mocktails and is a perfect place for a couple to appreciate the sundowners.
