Samaki House was a lovely retreat in the town of Lamu. The charming historic house is conveniently located on main street one block from the sea front, away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to get to restaurants, shops and gallery in under 5 minutes. Our check-in was smooth. It was very comforting and relieving to have Moses pick us up at the Jetty, amidst all the chaos, when our boat arrived. Brian was a fantastic host even though he was not at the property. He was quick to answer any questions and graciously extended his recommendations of places to eat and things to do. Moses was kind, friendly and quick to organize any of our needs. Our expectations were exceeded. Pictures don’t do this place justice.
Samaki House Highlights:
Sitting for breakfast at the beautiful table and admiring the interior decor, relaxing on the open-air upstairs rooftop terrace and enjoying the panoramic view of the town, reading through every page of the thoughtful, detailed house manual provided by Brian, exploring the Swahili village by foot, sailing Dhow trip to Manda Toto with Baji
