White House is a small and familiar guesthouse located in Shela village, only a few meters away from the seafront. Whitehouse has two floors with five double rooms and a rooftop veranda with a beautiful sea view.
Shela is a village about 2 miles from Lamu Town. The origin of the village is unknown, but according to tradition, it was settled by people from nearby Manda Island. The Lamu Archipelago is one island among a group of islands located just off the North-Eastern coast of Kenya in the Indian Ocean
The island itself is a beautiful place of rolling dunes and endless beaches, where tiny villages nestle among coconut and mango plantations and lateen sailed dhows ply the waters.
Some of the bedrooms are ensuite and some have shared bathrooms. The 1st floor has one ensuite self contained double room and two double rooms, sharing one bathroom. On the 2nd floor are two ensuite double rooms. Also you have your own veranda with the sea view.
The third floor is a rooftop with comfortable daybeds, a table and chairs. This space is open for all guests and is a wonderful place to enjoy the breeze and the seaview, surrounded by coconut trees and the bougainvillea.
The ground floor houses the restaurant, the ultimately place for fresh bread, cake, coffee and dinner. Come and stay to enjoy friendly and personalized service provided. Everything is done to make your holidays special and your stay in Lamu to a wonderful experience.
Enjoy your food or drink while seated in the open breezy garden and try something different. Fruit flavored brown or white bread are served straight from the oven.
