Matemwe is just 60 minutes drive from Stone Town, allowing for easy day trips and excursions to all corners of this fascinating island. One of the main attractions of Matemwe is the world class diving at Mnemba Atoll. This is one of the best places for snorkeling and diving off Zanzibar, with a high chance of seeing turtles and wild dolphins in addition to the diverse and colourful coral reef fish.

Accommodation consists consists of four self-contained, private villas, each with uninterrupted views of the turquoise Indian Ocean. The villas have been designed to cater for those looking for pure escapism and total privacy, as they feature in- house dining and private butler service. The villas were constructed by local craftsmen using local materials wherever possible: walls were made of local stone and the roof of Makuti thatch. Most of the furniture was made from locally produced coconut wood, while the soft furnishings were produced by Zanzibari women.
