The guest house is situated amongst the rocky outcrops in Krugersdorp, where Tienie and Karen Stander enjoy sharing their hospitality and making your stay comfortable and memorable. The house has panoramic views of the Cradle of Humankind and guests can enjoy the birdlife in the garden, listen to the calls of the Black Backed Jackal during the evenings and even be lucky to view the resident Black Eagle pair (Verreaux Eagles) soaring above or the Vervet Monkeys chattering in the trees.
It is a rustic thatched family home partly constructed from timber from alien invaders in and around the property. By walking, jogging or mountain biking around our property on the neighbouring farm, Laurentia, guests can expect to experience the open grassveld on the one hand and dense riverine vegetation in the valleys and kloofs on the other hand. A large variety of fauna and flaura will be experienced.
The unique Bankenveld vegetation type, second to fynbos, is a threatened biosphere due to pressure of development, mining and farming. Only a small part in the Gauteng Highveld remains untouched and is under constant pressure to decrease.
All rooms are individually decorated with the interpretation of living beautifully whilst away from home. The house offers clean linen every 2nd day as well as a daily cleaning service. Rooms have seperate entrances and private and safe parking is provided.
Rooms have a reading and working area. All rooms have DSTV/Satellite TV, DVD machines as well as wireless internet. Magazines and books are available. Rooms are equipped with adequate and safe wall plugs, a hair dryer, international adaptors and a safe for valuables. The friendly staff will be glad to advise a local restaurant for dinner.
