This cottage is situated in the leafy suburb of Pinelands, Cape Town. Built in 1927 the Cape Dutch gabled, thatched manor house is one of many such homesteads in the area that formed part of the first Garden City development in South Africa.
The house is close to everything. The Cape Town city centre, Table Mountain with its famous cableway, the airport, the closest beaches, major shopping malls, Kirstenbosch Gardens, the University of Cape Town and the fabulous V&A Waterfront are all within 10 minutes drive. Vincent Pallotti Hospital is on the doorstep with the Red Cross Children’s Hospital and Groote Schuur Hospital a short drive away. There is easy access to UCT, CPUT and other colleges for visiting professionals, with Pinelands train station 5 minutes walk away, and a Jammie Shuttle to UCT.
Pinelands is a very quaint suburb which is more or less self-contained. There is a shopping centre nearby with all the major conveniences including a Pick n Pay supermarket, Woolworths, all the main banks, post office, estate agents, doctor, dentist, etc.
The main bedroom is very spacious with loads of cupboards. The double bed is very comfortable ensuring a great night’s sleep. The interesting mix of period furniture is complimented with contemporary linen, lighting and décor. This bedroom has a full en suite bathroom.
The second bedroom is light and bright. This twin bedroom has direct access to the private garden through double French doors. Antique iron beds are complimented with other traditional pieces of furniture and gold framed mirror and art. The colour palette is neutral with burgundy accents in the drapes. This bedroom has an en suite bathroom with a shower.
Although self catering, a self-help breakfast can be provided on request. A daily cleaning service (which is recommended) and a laundry service are also offered at a small premium.
