Located in this sandy bushveld wilderness, you do feel pleasingly remote. A few minutes' drive from Paternoster to Farr Out is not what you would exactly call far. Crunching up the glinting shell pathway you can see across an indigenous garden and right out to sea.

Catch the glimpse of the last manned lighthouse of South Africa situated in nearby Cape Columbine Nature Reserve or listen to the foghorn and cuddle up. Four elegant, luxury tastefully furnished guest rooms plus exciting Wigwam Rising Moon will make your stay comfortable and unforgettable in our guesthouse, owned and managed by German-born Marion and her South African companion Deon.

The guesthouse is successfully running since 2005 in Paternoster on the West Coast of South Africa. Your hosts speak English, German and Afrikaans.

Paternoster is renowned as a prime spot for fishing for crayfish in season. For those who enjoy nature, the area offers more than 250 species of birds. The cormorant, sacred ibis and oystercatcher use the coastline as a breeding ground. Dolphins, whales, Penguin and seals are visiting regular this shoreline.

The village which acquired its name from the prayers, particularly "Our Father", offered up by ship wrecked Portuguese sailors, displays traditional fishermen's architecture. The fishing village is well known far beyond the borders of South Africa, ideal as stopover en route to / from Cape Town, Namibia, the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park (KTP) or Namaqualand.
