A lively backpackers lodge full of charm, colour and character, loved by all its patrons, Shoestrings is one of the most popular backpackers in Victoria Falls, and its bar is frequented by many locals as well as travellers. Only 2 minutes walk from town and 15 minutes walk to the Victoria Falls theselves, we are convienently located for all your needs.

Shoestrings offers great value accommodation, good food and is famous for its friendly service and lively atmosphere. Mingle and party with locals as well as other travellers day or night, there is always interesting characters around to talk to. Enjoy coffee and breakfast whilst catching up with world news and sport. Relax with a cold beer around the pool, share a snack or one of our famous pizzas, read your book in a hammock under the shady trees or plan your next adrenalin activity or sunset cruise from the on-site booking office (our staff will be happy to go through all the activity options with you). Whatever your holiday needs, they can all be met right here!

The Garden of Eat'n Restaurant (on-site) serves great food all day long, from breakfasts, light snacks and main meals. And then there is the pizza... the best in town!

There is always a fun atmosphere here, especially in the evenings when the bar, music, bonfire and pool competitions come alive. There is a cool restaurant with a pizza oven, but the traditional dinner at $3 is the best value. The bar staff are fun, so get involved. It's a short walk to the town. Our favourite hang-outs were Lola's Tapas Bar (in the stretch of shops with the green roofs) and Nam Took (Thai restaurant in The Elephants Walk Mall which opened in mid 2014 and has good free wifi). The Falls are nearby, $30 entrance (July 2014), viewing point #2 is the classic "Devil's Cataract" view of The Falls from the Zim side, best! A visit to The Victoria Falls Hotel is a must! Go for afternoon tea and order scones! Quite an experience with a view of the bridge. Make sure you check out the soap-stone carvings, there are a number of talented artists on the road sides. The town is really safe and people are friendly. Taxis around the town cost about $3. Hope you enjoy your trip as much as we did!
