Our 2 bed chalets have bathrooms with shower, are provided with linen and towels and are fully serviced. Kitchens which are equipped with gas refrigerators, gas cookers, tables, cutlery, crockery and basic cooking utensils are available for use by the residents of the chalets.
In keeping with the theme, the rustic and comfortable thatched chalets are built of local materials - wood, grass and reeds. Adding to the natural ambience, each chalet has a beautiful wooden deck which overlooks the river.
Please note that the chalets are self catering so you must bring all your requirements in terms of food.
Drinks and bottled water are available from our fully stocked bar but you are welcome to bring your own if you wish. If you decide to extend your stay you can cross back into Namibia and get a re-supply at one of the many well stocked and modern super markets in Katima Mulilo.
Kabula is not connected to the national electricity grid with lighting in the chalets and kitchens being by means of our solar power system. Please bring your torches and if you have, gas lights, to use around the camp fire at night. As we say, this is Real Africa!
The chalets are also very popular with medium sized Tiger fishing groups looking for affordable accommodation in their bid to better last years record.
Situated on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River, Western Zambia Kabula Lodge has been specifically designed to provide affordable and truly comfortable holiday accommodation for families who love fishing, birding, the outdoors and who want to enjoy Africa at its pristine best. Kabula is also a recognized haven for the keen fisherman wanting to catch a trophy Tiger Fish.
Situated within Barotseland, the Lozi people's mystical wetland region that the famous explorer David Livingstone explored so many years ago, Kabula Lodge provides the ideal holiday destination in a sparsely populated and relatively untouched region of Southern Africa where the magnificent indigenous forests are something to behold. The appeal of the Lodge has been further enhanced by its incorporation within the recently promulgated Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (TFCA) which is situated in the Okavango and Zambezi river basins where the borders of Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe converge. It spans an area of approximately 287 132 km², almost the size of Italy (300 979 km²), and includes 36 national parks, game reserves, community conservancies and game management areas.
This TFCA promises to be Southern Africa's premier tourist destination with the largest contiguous population of the African elephant (approximately 250,000) in the continent.
